Practice Overview
PHOENIX Ob Gyn Associates, L.L.C. (PHOENIX), was founded in 1981 and offers comprehensive gynecologic, obstetric and wellness care for women, as well as participating in clinical research studies. Having five board-certified OB/GYN physicians, two certified nurse practitioners, and two clinical trials study coordinators, PHOENIX allows for individualized care and impeccable, controlled, efficient research.

Our guiding principles remain unchanged since our inception. Patient care is our primary focus with a strong commitment to education and advancement of knowledge. PHOENIX keeps abreast of new technologies and medical advancements, offering state-of-the-art care to our patients. PHOENIX believes in the fundamental right of women to comprehensive care, and provides women with a full range of medical services and health options. We promote the health of the community, and provide a variety of educational programs and materials for the public.

Clinical Research Experience
Since 1999, PHOENIX has been awarded grants for Phase II-IV research in areas as varied as estrogen replacement therapy, uterine fibroids, osteoporosis prevention, vaginal infections, contraception, endometriosis, and other obstetric and gynecologic states.

Clinical Trial Process
Using clinical trials, the FDA allows pharmaceutical companies to test new drugs or devices. Starting in the lab and then on healthy volunteers, researchers are interested in how to adopt new drugs for the treatments of many diseases. As part of our commitment to women’s health, we are uniquely qualified to offer these trials to our patients. PHOENIX is one of a few private Ob-Gyn practices in South Jersey deemed to be qualified to perform these trials.

The process of participation in a clinical trial is simple. After learning about a trial, either through our office or the Web (www.PHOENIXobgyn.com or www.Centerwatch.com), patients are “screened” to determine if they meet the qualifications of the sponsoring drug company. PHOENIX strictly adheres to “Good Clinical Practice” guidelines, which define the moral, ethical and medical behavior of the investigator. This means that at PHOENIX your health would never be compromised for the sake of a study.

Once screened, your participation may last anywhere from one week to one year depending on the length of the trial. Most visits are in our Moorestown office. Some sponsors reimburse volunteers for their time and travel expenses. This may vary from study to study. Most patients volunteer as an alternative to routine treatment options. These patients may have failed prior therapies. Others patients volunteer from the” heart” as a means of helping to advance medical science. Most patients who volunteer for studies report tremendous satisfaction in their participation.

Facility Description
PHOENIX has four convenient offices to serve our patients. Our main research site is located in historic Moorestown, New Jersey. Situated approximately 10 miles from Philadelphia, and 20 miles from Trenton, New Jersey, the office is close to I-295, the Atlantic City Expressway, the PA Turnpike and Exit 5 of the NJ Turnpike.
